MATCH INSIGHTS
Transforming data into art, Match Insights offers statistically infused graphics for tennis tournaments, providing engaging stats that transcend names and numbers. Developed by SMT's Creative Studio, these graphics reveal the storylines of players and matches through bar graph elements, speed and percentage gauges, directional serve speed images and captivating tennis-themed visuals, available across all media channels.
CARAT COACH'S APP
The ultimate tennis analytics and video replay system, CARAT empowers courtside coaches with an intuitive app for quick player performance analysis. Integrated with SMT’s OASIS data management and EDGE data analytics platforms, CARAT delivers real-time integration of multiple data sources, point-by-point video replay, key performance match statistics and expert tennis insights.
OASIS collates each of these independent sources and time-synchronizes each data and video source to a common timecode which is made available via API connections to the CARAT courtside solution. The Coach’s Portal allows post-match, online access to player performances.
Developed in collaboration with USTA coaches, CARAT offers an intuitive user interface within a ruggedized tablet that withstands outdoor courtside conditions.
NET SPIDER LET-DETECTION SYSTEM
Revolutionizing let detection, Net Spider is a net sensor system that communicates with the chair umpire's handheld unit, ensuring accurate calls during matches. Net Spider features a sensor attached to the center of the net strap, strategically positioned to detect any net disturbances during play. When activated by a button on the handheld unit, the sensor immediately relays information to the umpire, allowing for swift and accurate let calls. Net Spider offers flexibility in operation, with the option to function either wirelessly or wired, adapting to various court setups and preferences. Note: While Net Spider excels in let detection, it is not designed to start or stop the serve clock.

ATLAS LINE CALLING SYSTEM
ATLAS (Advanced Tracking Line Analysis System) utilizes SMT’s proprietary Camera Tracker technology to provide precise line-calling within 5mm accuracy, offering a user-friendly interface and seamless integration into tournament infrastructure. With a user-friendly UI and SMT-trained tour supervisors, SMT puts the tournaments in control of confirming bounce location and calls. ATLAS seamlessly integrates data into SMT’s existing on-site infrastructure, requiring only a minimal hardware footprint on tournament grounds.
ATLAS is in the ITF certification process with the anticipation of being fully certified by June of 2024.

SMT offers comprehensive training and certification programs for both our employees and clients. DATA SCIENCE
In 2021, SMT launched our Data Science Department, marking a natural progression of our extensive experience in handling data across television, media, and sponsorship. This strategic move enabled us to pioneer innovative statistical solutions like TIG (Tennis Insight Graphics) for The Championships, Wimbledon, where we integrated tracking data into our point-by-point eventing system. SMT provides cutting-edge data analytics for the world feed and BBC Wimbledon broadcasts, setting new standards for data-driven insights in sports broadcasting. Today, our data science group continues to push the boundaries of innovation, delivering analytics products and services across a diverse range of sports, including ice hockey, golf, and American football.
